Post on you hypothetically casting celebrities in your film

Us as group decided If we were to have celebrities in our film hypothetically, We would have the rapper Stormzy act in our film. This is due to the fact that Stormzy grew up in a run down estate, which is exactly the sort of location we want our film to be set in. Stormzy is the perfect actor for this due to the fact that he would feel comfortable in this area, also because he was brought up in this area the way he acts will be perfect to create the sense of realism. Another fact that makes Stormzy the perfect actor is because of his dress sense. His dress sense is a sort of 'chavy' look, which would also create the sense of realism.

Final mise decisons

We as a group chose to have this piece of mise-en-scene in our film opening because it represents where the music in the clip comes from. Due to the fact that as soon as the actor puts in his headphones the music begins to play louder.

Also as a group we chose for our actor to wear a snapback due to the fact that snapbacks have connotations of 'chavs' or people who live in run down areas. This was effective due to the fact that we were going for the affect that our film was about someone who lives in a run down estate, and the snapback signifies this the most.

This helps us when we came to create our film opening because we now know exactly what props we need to include to create the theme that we want.

Final Location

We as a group chose to use this location for our film opening this is because it was not at a distance which was to far away, meaning it was easy for us to access and if need be re-film certain scenes. Also area fits in well with the style of film we wanted. Due to the fact that we wanted our film to be based in a run down estate to capture a gritty realism feel, we feel like this location is perfect due to the fact that is rough around the edges.

This will help our film capture a sense of realism due to the fact that it is where actual people live and the fact that our company is independent this shows that we do not have the funds to record somewhere fancy.

Post on organising sound

We as a group have chosen to use this song in our film opening because we feel that it fits with our genre and also incises our audience due to the beat being upbeat and catchy. The song also has a 'running track' sort of feel, which connotes with the fact that the actor will be running when this song is player.

Through out our film opening Foley effects will be used in situations such as doors closing. We have chosen to create our own Foley effects due to the fact this means we do not have to look online for sounds that are royalty free.

This will help us when we come to create our film opening because we will have the perfect sounds we need to create the atmosphere of the film.

Post on Costumes

Us as a group have decided to choose this outfit for our actors costumes, this is because our production company is independent meaning we do not have funds to hire out expensive locations, So this means they we have chosen to film in a run down location and this costume is one that has connotations to this sort of area.

This will help us when we come to film our film opening because we will know exactly what our actor needs to look like in the scenes.

The chosen institutional logo

This is the institutional logo us as a group have chosen to use for our film opening. The reason for this is because the logo fits in with our production companies name. Also due to the fact that my company is independent company, this logo is effective because it does not have movement and looks like a logo that has been made with a lower budget, which all fits with the fact that it is meant to be an independent company.

From analysing this film from our chosen genre as a group we can see where the main titles need to be placed in our film opening. We can see that the institutional logos need to come first followed by actors names and finishing with the director of the film. This will help us when we come to create our film opening because we will now know when and where our titles and institutional logo need to be placed.

Initial Shot List-

Our shot list for our filming will consist of an establishing shot of a road with stores on one side within is this you will see our actor appear when leaving the store, once you see the actor the camera shot will be in front of him panning from toe to head so you're able to see his outfit, you then see him place his bottle on the floor then puts in his headphones you see this happen, over the shoulder shot of him playing music once this happens music plays over the clip (throughout of the rest of the clip) you then follow the actor around, a panning shot is then applied to see him walking down the street once the actor walks through a pathway an 'through the door' type shot is than applied so you see him walk through the ally and follow him out the other side, the camera is then applied so you can see him tightening his laces, the camera shot is set back you see him begin running once he begins running, the camera is a few meters in front of him he then runs past the camera quickly, then the title appears.

Post on your casting/audition intentions-

Posting on casting/auditions, we sent our script to 6 actors that we felt would play our role superbly but as we heard and saw the way their body language was when reading off our made up sentences and expressions we only felt that 1/6 of our actors could fit our role, as one of our members suggested someone only they knew and felt he could play the role was then auditioned, the 2nd actor we felt slipped into the role correctly and that is how we managed to get our 2 actors to perform our film, as time went forward we have felt that we only need one actor in total because of our story line, we than asked both actors to perform 3 scripts and using expression within the moment when speaking this we felt was an equal chance for the best actor to rise.

Jack Delaney-1149

Final Props Decisions-

Here we have thought hardly with the decisions that lay ahead but we decided to stick with one athlete and stick to his outfit which was the smart outfit, Nike shoes and hat with Philips headphones this shows the audience that his family may not well to do and struggle his mum sees belief in him as she funds for the correct outfit and clothing so he can thrive to be the best this shows the audience that he will make it but without them releasing till the end.

Jack Delaney-1149

Post on props-

From the images above are here to represent the lower class people in ran down areas and who cant afford the smart and professional training outfit which is shown below.

This shows the two athletes styles here as you can see the first 4 images show that the athlete maybe can't afford the correct gear, where on the other hand the last 4 images shows that he can afford the proper gear and is high range outfit and brands.

Jack Delaney-1149

Initial Script laid out correctly-

Here in our film we have decided to not have any diegetic sound when the actors are on screen nor when we have a clip playing on screen so there will be no speaking on screen, but we plan to play music throughout the clip the reasoning for this is that we plan to make the music match the style of performance from the athlete and we felt that this would help capture the audience and make them pay more attention to the film clip.

As a group we thought playing music instead of dialog would help the audience settle into the film much easier than a pile of conversations and situations occurring in the first 2min of our clip, we thought that music playing will gather the audiences attention and than the movement and entrance of the actor will help maintain there attention till the main dialog occurs.

Institutional logo group research-

As a group we developed our logo multiple times and changed our design more than once before settling on our 4th design as we felt it mas smart and mature with the use of color and symbols used such as a snake which resembles to the name Black Mamba , film reel and 3 men in a suit which represents an individual within the group as there's 3 boys, As a group we over thought our logo and wanted to be really complex and flashy before releasing that it was just best to strip back down to basic, it is hard to compare our badge to Mainstream or Independent company as they're able to have the funds for moving and complex design logo unlike us we have had to design our badge from basic Photoshop Software, although we can't afford this type of technology and software we felt that the badge was superb and we felt that the badge work superbly with the name and the meaning behind the design

The logo is always needed when producing a company especially if it is the main highlight of the company and the logo brings a comfort and reassurance to viewers and consumers, our badge doesn't move nor have sound but it fits in well within our piece and is easy to bring and shows professionalism like Warner Bros, MARVEL or Colombia Pictures.

Here is our group logo as this has all the characteristics which relate to our name, we are an independent company so we felt that we didn't need to go over the top with detail and designing we felt that our simplistic logo covered enough boxes on our list is relates to our name and compliment each other color wise.

Jack Delaney-1149

Rough Film title order-

Here I am writing down the list of a rough film title order, this will consist of actors names and directors, we are writing down a rough cut so we can have a guideline towards our film piece and also adding title order allows us to look more professional.

Directors
Adam, Charlie, Jack
Actor
Nyakeh
Edited

This will guide us successfully and show professional manor within our piece, using title order will allow us to discuss how long each title has on screen without it being over done.

Moodboard on the look of your audience members-

Jack Delaney-1149

Mindmap of who your target audience is-

Here I have produced a mind map of what our audience could be and their style-

When attracting audience we plan to use the 'Effects theory' as we want to emotionally effect are viewers and want them to touched by our film as they will be encountering a emotional ride with both actors.
Using the hypodermic needle theory we aim to grab our viewers and to be able to change their mind set with direct, immediate and powerful effects to drag our viewers through and emotional ride.

Jack Delaney-1149

Explain what you need to consider when developing your film opening-

When producing our film opening running off the research of our questionnaire we need to consider the uses of sound and sight making sure it is able to draw in our audience successfully with this we can make our quality better and are able to make sure our film would achieve high ratings, when producing our film we would need to consider the latest upcoming young actors and actresses so we are able to interlink with our younger target audience this would be useful because the younger audience will most likely feel that their favorite actor/actresses isn't as old due to the style and fashion that younger idol may wear or even the way the physically look, Also due to our questionnaire that we also found out that we need to research and look at ways how films inspire younger audiences an how they bring on board the information and guide you are sending them through media conception.

Jack Delaney-1149
