Evaluation question 4 resit charlie
Q4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
Our target market would be from the ages of 15 to 20 this is similar to the ages that would watch the film fast girls which is about female runners who want to run in the Olympics. This is similar to our film as it has a very similar style and narrative as it too is about running and the struggles of becoming the best.. The type of TV programs this audience member would like are comedies as they would like to laugh as they would probably have a good sense of humour. They would probably shop at highly expensive shops or have a good sense of style and fashion. The type of music they would listen to is upbeat house or R&B music. I could interplant many of these feature into the film to make it more appealing for these type of audiences. Adding these certain aspects would make the film more relatable for these audiences and hopefully more enjoyable. To make our film more appealing to the audience we want to attract we would need to ensure that the character we created could be relatable to the audience so that the audience could build a connection with the character. This creates a sense of involvement for the audience as they feel as though they are attached to the character and situations the character experiences affects their emotions.
Making the character relatable for the audience would require the character to dress, talk, act and deal with situation that all of the audience experience. This helps the audience realize situations that the character is going through and gives the audience a different perspective on how to deal with these situations.
Due to the fact our film sees the character start with nothing and achieve big, this could attract audiences who are looking to be inspired. This means that we could use our media production as a educational source for the audience.
Evaluation Question 3 resit Charlie
What kind of media institution might distribute your film?
The name Black Mamba came from as one of the deadliest reptiles known so we felt that among the class are group and film could be powerful and the meaning the behind the film we felt stood strong for our audience and we could relate so we took our meaning of our film and put into an animal after research we felt Black Mamba stood out and we could design an decent logo for our film with a mixture of gold and black was a good mixture and sat nicely together.
A production company has major funding either through earnings, studio investors, or private investors, and has done or been involved with big budget productions in the past, it is considered to be a major production company as a group our final film would fit under Independent Art house film, due to the advances of technology and funding when producing the film we have a low budget therefore we wont be able to have the advances of 6K cameras the ones that are used in Spectre.
If an Hollywood company was to take our idea their version of the film would comfortably match 80-85% of our film if we was to produce an 1 hour 45 minute film but as an film compared to other films such Creed, Girl Track, Goal etc I think the film would follow a very basic and original idea of an child living in a ran down area trying to better himself in an area where crime and drugs are frequent and are used in daily living.
Various people are named throughout our film due to the roles which are given behind screen such as outfit, style and small things like the way you walk or even your mannerisms but also the likes of Directors, Executives and the leaders in certain departments this is shown because it appears through the opening sequence but it goes in hierarchy order such as Director, Executives & co-Executives etc.
When it comes down to Production companies I think if we was to go mainstream a company that I think that would produce or film and make it spectacular and gaining millions of viewers would be SONY Entertainment as they have recently released CREED which was a high hit and was a superb film so I think SONY Entertainment could produce a fantastic film with high quality actors as Michael B Jordan JR, James Francis Kelly III and Chloe Grace Moretz who would be a superb cast for our film, if we was going to go down the Independent path i'd rely on Studio Canal to produce our film due to their long track history of producing quality films from all genres so theses two would be our preferred companies depending on what categories we chose to go down.

Evaluation question 7 Adam Russell resit
Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
While doing the preliminary we were just practising our filming techniques to improve the quality of our final piece and help us be more confident with holding and showing with the camera which i feel helped a lot. As we only filmed in school our preliminary task was very limited so therefore we had to create a story that would fit in with the schools surroundings and while we did our final piece we could almost film it anywhere so therefore the ideas were endless.
When doing the preliminary task my group and i used a variety of different shots such as a match on action and 180 degree rule. Unfortunately we did not use a try pod to held steady the camera so therefore some of the shots we used were bit shaky. This meant that some of the shots are slightly blurry which took away from what was going on in the scene.
We used a lot of foley effects to try and make it sound as real as possible but it ended out sounding out of place and wrong. For example the door did not make the sound that you would have expect from a new door such as this one.
While the two characters were speaking we edited a shot reverse shot to make it seem as it the conversation was fluent dialogue.
As our preliminary task did not have any real structure or story and we didn't really have a clue on what we wanted to film it didn't turn out very good. So therefore for our actual film we decided that it would be a good idea to create a story board to ensure we had an idea on what we were going to film and where.
While we did our actual film we felt that we were better adept to shot the scenes and our editing ability was much stronger.
We learnt how to film the scenes with much more effect as during our preliminary task we used a poor quality camera while in our final film we decided to film our shots on an iPhone 6 which had much better quality.
We also decided to mainly film our shots outside or in well lit rooms as a lot of our preliminary task was shot in a very dark room so therefore the audience could hardly see the characters and the quality of the scenes were not good.

As you can see even though we used a filter to make our actual film darker it is much clearer than the scene we used in our preliminary.
We learnt how to edit together our final product much better through the techniques we touched on in our preliminary task. During the editing stage of our film we were much more comfortable editing the shots together and it is very evident in how our film came out as we used many different techniques

Evaluation Question 6 Adam Russell Resit
What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing the product?
In the planning and production of our film opening we used a wide range of technologies to bring the project to life. These technologies helped us create a high quality final product. The equipment that we used had both positive and negatives while in use which goes as follows…….
Research and planning
YouTube
I used YouTube to find videos to analyse and take ideas from. This was a very important website for me as it made it very easy to find film openings so that i could analyse them and learn how they work in order for them to be entertaining.

Blogger

Internet explorer/ Google
I used the internet to use internet explorer and to find the bulk of the information that I posted on blogger I used the search engine Google to find websites that had appropriate information on to help me learn and explain certain information it was also very useful for me to save and embed images to help back up my points. For example I could find images to help back up certain genres costumes and convention etc.

Construction
I phone 6
While filming our music video we used an IPhone 6 camera. We felt that this would have the best quality camera that we could get hold off so that we could get the best final finish to the video as possible. I think that the IPhone was very useful as It was very good quality and could be used to film the first person shot very easily as it is very small and light.

The down side to using the iPhone was that in the cold and while filming the battery would drain very quickly so therefore we normally had a limited time
I movie
On the IMacs we used I movie maker to edit our film opening this was a very good piece of technology to use as it was easily accessible for us to use because we could use it at any time during the school hours and after school as well. It was very easy to use as all you needed to do was upload footage from your camera or phone and you could easily cut and split clips in order to make videos.

Evaluation
Prezi
I used Prezi a presentation program to create an interesting and engaging answer to the evaluation question this was a very useful program as it allowed me to easily create a presentation that is more interesting than the likes of Microsoft PowerPoint.

Emaze
I used another presentation program emaze to assist me in creating an interesting way to present one of the evaluation questions. It was a very helpful program as it made it very easy for me to create an interesting presentation to present and explain one of the evaluation questions.
Editing
On the IMacs we used I movie to edit and use a microphone to make a video answering the evaluation questions this was a simple and easy way to answer the question as all the resources were waiting and ready for myself to use. The problem that I had was the fact that there was an number of people waiting to the same mac to do the same thing so it was very hard to slot myself in to be able to use the mac and do this task.

Casting for our film Resit
Casting for our film
Within our opening scene we decided to only use one character who would be the main character. This character would undergo many tough times as well suffer with depression and other factors. But in the end would achieve success and reach their goal. We decided we need a athletic male to fit the role of this character. This was because this actor would be playing a character who would participating in running, boxing and other various sporting activates.
The two candidates we received was Edward Pearson and Nyakeh Duwai. Both of these actors were of an athletic structure and would both fit the role of this character perfectly.
Due to the fact that the stereotype for athletes in films is a black, tall, lean male. We wanted to challenge this stereotype by giving a different approach to the role. This was because we stated from day one that we wanted to challenge stereotypes and use this film as an object to remove racism from sport. We feel as though choosing Edward as our main actor this would challenge this stereotype and show anyone can reach their goals.
Target Audience answer analysis Resit
Target Audience answer analysis
q1. What would you expect to see in a sports drama opening scene?
When our audience was asked this question we gained various different results. These consisted of; some kind of physical activity, seeing the main character start with nothing and becoming a star, see the struggle of the character as the achieve success and also to see conflict between the main character and his rival who may also be their childhood friend. This made it clear to us what the audience wanted to see from our storyline, and due to the fact all of the ideas were similar it would be easier to combine them together.
q2. Would you prefer the films story to be heavily around the main character or the sport they are participating in?
The results we gained from this answer were 8 people who were in favour of the main character and 2 who were in favour of the sport. This made it clear to us that we would heavily base the story around the main character but also implement some story to do with the sport.
q3. Is there anything we should implement in our film?
When asked this question nearly every person responded with "a training montage". We expected this to be the answer as most films of this genre included this aspect, and when they were then asked why they would want this included they replied with "because it is usually seen in this genre of film, which will help the audience to establish the genre easily."
q4. What props do u associate with sports drama?
Due to the fact we explained the original idea we had for our film opening the audience knew it was based around a boxer. This meant that their response led to answers such as, boxing gloves, boxing bag, gym etc. This is something that we expected due to the attempted storyline we created.
q5. What location would you suggest filming in?
Once again due to the fact that the audience were briefed of the original storyline they knew the sort of location needed. so the most common responses we received consisted of; gym, field, park, arena, boxing ring. This what we expected due to the original story line.
q6. Do you prefer a storyline based around one charter or a group of characters?
The results we gained from this answer were 8 people who were in favour a storyline based around one character and 2 who were in favour a storyline based around a group of characters. This made it clear to us that we needed to create a story in which the main actor was the sole part of the film, which intern meant that we had to include a lot of detail in their role.
q7. What sort of outcome would you like the main character to receive?
The main answer we received for this question is that the audience want the main character to go through some life struggles but at the end of the story the character to have success and achieve his goal. When ask why they wanted this the most common reply was that this implemented conventions of drama into the piece, as the character would experience a type of conflict. This helped us to come to a conclusion on what would happen to the main character and helped us to develop a story which would attract the audience.
This will help us when we come to create our film opening as we now know what aspects the audience want us to include to help satisfy their entertainment needs as well as help them establish the genre of film and educate them.
Location consideration Resit
We will need to shoot our film in a gym location to help show that our main character is a fit individual who works hard and has a goal.

We will also need to film in locations outside such as park and muddy fields. These locations would see the main character doing his running to ensure he stays fit. The use of the muddy locations would help with the grittiness of the film opening.
We have considered filming in a garage as this location would work well with our main character working out. Such as hitting a boxing bag or working with a sparring partner.
We could use a rundown estate to show that the character isn't in a rich well off position and he has to work his way to the top by his own motivation.
We could use a local corner shop so the main character can be seen buying a drink and having a friendly convocation with the shop owner to show that he is a outgoing nice person that the audience can root for.

Final location decision resit
The locations we decided to film our final product were in our schools gym facility as it has a wide range of machines and equipment that we can get easy access to and many great shots from. We also decided to film in areas around Borham such as the park and field areas which allowed us to get shots of the main acter running from many angles and show that he is making progress.

Sport drama audience analysis resit
Sports drama will attract many types of audiences from young to old and both genders but they are most likely to attract a male audience over the age of twelve as most sport dramas have an age certificate of twelve and above. This is because some of the scene you find in this genre are quite mature and you would need to be a certain age to understand them.
We will aim our film at males ages fifteenth to early thirties as we feel that we can relate to what men want to see in the genre we are doing so therefore we can make it as entertaining as possible for them.

Prop consideration resit
As our character will be doing most of his exercise by dig running we will not need many props but in some of the scenes he will be using props to help him exercise such as the equipment in the gym but we do not need to get any of them specially for the film opening so there is no worry their. We also need to get a boxing bag so that we can get a couple of clips of the main character working out on it.
Adam Russell
Costume consideration resit
As our film opening will be a sports drama we feel that it is appropriate to make our main character to be doing some sort of physical activity and work out. So therefore we need him to be wearing sports attire. What I mean by that is in the scenes when he is outside he will be wearing jogging bottoms and a hoodie which is very common in people working out, outside and for the scenes he is inside working out In the gym he will be wearing shorts and a t shirt.
